These should not match your existing décor, but instead stand out as an artistic expression complementing your other furnishings. An example of this would be adding a Ningbo (Asian) antique painted piece to a very clean contem- porary room. The result will be a unique fashion statement that will be charming, as well as create conversation among your friends! Shop Online & Deliver to Las Vegas Place your order online and AFW will work with you every step of the way. Their polite and profes- sional delivery team will bring the furniture into your home, place it in the room of your choice and completely set up your furniture. Unlike most competitors, they don’t shop out nationwide deliveries to 3rd parties. If you order from American, it will be delivered from American! Go to www.afwonline.com, click delivery info for full details and start decorating your new house today! Update your lamps – pick shades or bases with bright colors that engage and draw your eyes. Add an interesting sculpture or piece of colored glass to your cocktail table or mantle – it can become a focal point of the room. An area rug adds color and pattern to the oor, creating warmth and atmosphere. A leaner mirror placed opposite a window with a view can open a room and make it appear larger. A beautiful oral or a touch of greenery adds warmth to any space. Utilizing any of these tips allows you the opportunity to add your per- sonality to an otherwise neutral room of furniture. Accessories are a smaller purchase that can change the look of any room quickly and effectively. Revamp Your Space Tips from American Furniture Warehouse Furnishing your new home is an adventure in fashion – where the trends change swiftly and dramatically, same as selecting your wardrobe is centered around current fashion trends. Unfortunately, you cannot change out all of your furniture to keep up with constantly changing fashion trends or to update looks you have grown tired of. You can still give your new home a fresh feel, bring in the latest color trends and make your home an exciting retreat without stressing your bank account! Consider these simple designing tips: Rearrange Plan one room at a time and complete it before you move to the next. Stand in the middle of the room and think about how you will use the room. Is there enough space to arrange the furniture to best suit how you plan to use the room Go to www.AFWonline.com and experi- ment with the room planner if you need assistance with this step. Other simple rearrangement ideas include moving some furniture away from the walls – this adds a unique touch and changes the room feel and dimensions. If you are not pleased with the overall layout or feel of your room, you may also consider exchang- ing pieces from one room to another. Just because you bought a new lamp intended for your bedroom doesn’t mean it is not better suited for your liv- ing room. Add New Accessories Accessories are an affordable way to simply update a room, or completely revamp the feel of a space. A new piece of art hung on a focal wall can add drama and introduce a new color scheme. Use the art as a building block to pull colors into new pillows and a throw on the sofa. With that resolve, let me be among the rst to congratulate you on making a fantastic choice for a new place to call home. Talking with newcomers like you always takes me back to the day when I rst rolled into town in 1991. Fewer than one million people lived here then, today more than two million people do. Our community has seen many changes in that time, but the best part of living here really hasn’t changed. The most valuable resource in our little corner of the desert south- west is the people who live here. Our community has been hit hard by the housing slump and the number of foreclosures that it brought. We are beginning to see the early promising signs of a turn-around. The number of home sales has been climbing lately, but prices are still down. That’s why the timing of your move to the valley is so perfect. for you and for us. “My focus is on news that bene ts consumers, so I’ll be on your side with stories to help you save money.” “We’re so glad you’re here, because it’s the start of a relationship that will work well for everyone.” We’re so glad you’re here, because it’s the start of a relationship that will work well for everyone. As you look around for the right place for your family to settle down, you’re in a very powerful position as a potential buyer or renter. Remember, I’m a consumer advocate so I’m on your side in the housing game. A large inventory of houses means you have more choice, and can get more home for less money than anytime in many years. If you choose to put down more permanent roots and invest in a home here, you are poised to bene t from the coming rebound in home values. This is also a time of growth for our most powerful economic engine, the gaming industry. In the next year, you’ll have a front row seat as three major new resorts open on the Las Vegas Strip. That will bring tens of thousands of new jobs. Historically, Las Vegas has proven to be resilient. Our Valley tends to bounce back sooner and at a faster pace than other parts of the country. I’ll be doing my best every night to keep you up to date on the improve- ments in our economy and housing market during my Saving You Money reports. It will be exciting as we all watch things get back on track. Thanks for choosing to be a part of our future. meet in the next weeks, months and years moved here from somewhere else themselves. Heat exhaus- tion and dehydration occur quickly and much easier here than in most areas of the country. With this in mind, you will need to pay close attention to keeping you and your family well hydrated. Although Las Vegas tap water is safe to drink, some people contend that it is not refreshing to drink. This may cause you to turn to alternatives containing caffeine and alcohol, such as coffee, teas, soft drinks and beer. You should know that these drinks have a diuretic effect on the kidneys and they actually cause water to drain from your body’s reserves. Water is the best choice for hydra- tion. Good, clean drinking water is essential to everyone’s health. If you are not properly hydrated, you may expe- rience symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea and cramps. In severe cases, dehydration can cause raised core body temperature, heat exhaustion and life-threatening heat stroke. Tips To Staying Well-Hydrated Use an attractive glass or easy-to- use water bottle. Add ice, lemon or lime.
