If you are new to Indiana, new vehicle reg-
istrations may be obtained at a license branch,
AAA license branch, or Old National Bank
partner. Residents of Lake or Porter counties
may renew registrations at Clean Air Car Check
testing sites.
Online Renewal
Renew your registrations online through
myBMV, a virtual license branch that gives you
more information about your records as well
as the ability to securely access many services
online. You may order your plates with express
delivery that guarantees you will receive them in
three business days. To create a myBMV account
visit in.gov and follow the prompts.
Driver’s License
When you become a resident of Indiana, you
have 60 days to get a new Indiana driver’s license
if you hold a valid driver’s license from another
state. You must visit a license branch and pass
a written examination and a standard vision
screening test, then you must surrender any valid
driver’s licenses that you hold from other states.
